On July 18, 2021, Telangana government has decided to implement “Dalit Bandhu Scheme” a Dalit empowerment programme in the state. It was announced some months back in the state budget for the year 2021-22. The decision regarding implementation of the scheme was taken by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. This scheme will be soon implemented as a pilot project in Huzurabad assembly constituency. Under this scheme, measures will be taken for upliftment of the Scheduled Castes in the constituency. This scheme will enable overall development of the conditions of people belonging to scheduled castes. Efforts will be taken to enable the people to earn their living and improve their standard of living. It aims to make them self-reliant with improved socio-economic backgrounds. State government has set aside a budget of Rs. 1000 crores for this initiative.
