Government of Uttarakhand will be launching an innovative scheme called Vaishnavi Kit Scheme. Just send a selfie with your newborn daughter and government will send the wishes along with a useful kit for the baby girl. The initiative is an extension and to promote “Beti Bacho, Beti Padhao” campaign.
Women and Child Ddevelopment Minister of the Uttarakhand Rekha Aarya will be announcing the scheme very soon. Presently she is promoting Beti Bacho Beti Padhav campaign and leading a cycle rally from Dehradun to Haridwar. Government will issue Vaishnavi Cards to all the beneficiaries and other popular schemes will be linked to it. Parents will get life insurance too under the scheme, the minister said.
The scheme has got a green signal from the Chief Minister and the Ministry of Women and Child Development is working on its final draft. Government is planning to take help of Anaganwadi Sevikas along with government and private hospitals. Nodal centers will be setup along with a toll-free number to assist the citizens.
