YSR Farm Mechanisation Service Scheme, Andhra Pradesh

To help farmers across the state by providing them with agricultural facilities and farm equipment at subsidized rates.  

Andhra Pradesh government is about to start ‘YSR Farm Mechanisation Service Scheme’ to promote farm mechanisation across the state. Under this scheme the state government will provide agricultural facilities to the small and marginal farmers without any additional financial burden to the farmers. Farm equipment like harvesters, threshers, winnowers and reapers will also be provided to the farmers at a subsidized price. Farm mechanisation will make the work easier for the farmers thereby making it quicker. It will also tend to open new employment opportunities for the rural youth. About 10,750 community hiring centres affiliated to Rythu Bharosa Kendras will be set up in the state under this scheme.

  • Farmers in such groups use their equipment for cultivation and rent them to other farmers if they want.
  • Under this scheme about 11,035 cluster level combined harvester community hiring centres in East and West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts.
  • The state government will also set up 175 high tech hubs in each of the assembly constituency.
  • Farm mechanisation will help the farmers to undertake the work at a faster pace.
  • It will reduce the input costs of the farmers and increase their income.
  • It will help in the cultivation process thereby making it more efficient with the use of proper farm equipment.
