Aasara Pension Scheme is a scheme launched by Telangana government for the social security and welfare of aged, widows, toddy tappers, weavers, beedi workers, disabled, Filaria and HIV patients in the state. This scheme tends to provide financial assistance every month to these vulnerable groups across the state. This scheme will help these people to live a socially secured life with dignity. It will help them with fulfilling their daily needs and leading a peaceful life ahead. To avail the benefit under this scheme the applicant can register and apply on the official website @aasara.telangana.gov.in. Offline applications can also be made at the Seva kendras/ Corporation in the concerned localities. This scheme will provide core assistance to the vulnerable categories in actual need.

Scheme Objectives and Benefits:
- The main objective of the scheme is to plan for the future
- This scheme aims to provide social security to the vulnerable sections in the state
- All the aged, widows, toddy tappers, weavers, beedi workers, disabled, Filaria and HIV patients in the state are covered under the scheme
- Government has increased the amount of pension to Rs. 3000 per month for disabled persons and Rs. 2000 per month for all the other categories
- This scheme will provide financial security will be provided to the vulnerable categories under this scheme thereby ensuring their welfare.
Eligibility:
- Person applying to avail the scheme benefit should be a permanent resident of the state
- This scheme is applicable to both Men and Women
- For Elderly/ aged category the applicant should be of 65 years of age or above. Only 1 pension is applicable in one family, women applicants will be given preference in such cases
- For Widows category the applicant should be above 18 years of age and should belong to primitive and vulnerable tribal group
- For Toddy Tappers/ Weaving category the applicant should be above 50 years of age and should be in Toddy tapping/ Weaving profession in rural/ urban areas
- For Disabled/ HIV Patients category the applicants of any age group will be eligible

- Death certificate (in case of widows)/ Xerox copies of registration in cooperative society of Toddy Tapper or Weavers/ SADAREM certificate (for disabled)

Application process:
- While applying offline, the applicant can download the form from the website
- Fill the same, attach the documents and submit it to the village revenue office/ gram panchayat office or bill collector office as applicable in rural and urban areas respectively
- After checking and verification of the form and documents the applicant will be issued pension facility
- While applying online the applicant has to first visit the website of Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation @gwmc.gov.in
- Scroll to the Online applications section followed by Pension application
- Enter the mobile number and get the same verified via OTP
- Fill the form details as required like name, Aadhaar number, locality, gender, caste, address, age, etc
- Upload the required documents and submit
- Then the applicant has to visit the official Aasara website @aasara.telangana.gov.in for checking the application and pension status
- Click on the Quick Search tab and select the Search Pensioner Details option
- Enter the ID, District, Mandal, Panchayat, Name and Head of the family as applicable and click on search
- Applicant can also take a printout of the form for future reference
