Affordable and Nourishment Assistance (ANNA) 

Assam government scheme to provide rice at Rs. 1 per Kg

The Assam Government has launched Affordable and Nourishment Assistance (ANNA) Scheme. Under the scheme rice will be provided at Rs. 1 per Kg to all the poor in the state. The scheme was announced in the Assam Budget 2019-20. The Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal launched the scheme.

The primary objective of the scheme is to make sure everybody in the state has food. It is a welfare scheme to ensure food for all.

The subsidized rice scheme will benefit 2.5 crore beneficiaries across Assam. It will ensure food security in the state. It will help underprivileged to live their life with dignity & pride. The Food Supplies Department of Assam will implement the scheme. 57 lakh underprivileged families to get rice at the subsidized rate of Rs. 1/Kg.

ANNA Helpline:

The state government is also planning to launch a helpline for the people. Citizens can report their complaints & grievances on the helpline. Government wants to make sure that the real beneficiaries get benefits of all the welfare schemes by them. The CM has invited all the citizens to join hands with them in implementing them effectively.
