Gujarat government has started Agriculture Diversification scheme – 2021 for assisting the farmers in tribal areas. This scheme was e-launched by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on June 22, 2021. Under this scheme the vanbandhu-farmers in tribal areas of the state will be provided with crops seeds and fertilizer assistance. The farmers will get 45 kg of urea, 50kg of NPK and 50 kg of ammonium sulphate along with seeds of crops like maize, bitter melon (karela), calabash (dudhi), tomato, millet, etc under this scheme. Efforts are being made to provide sufficient water supply for irrigation in the tribal areas. It will help in more cultivation in the tribal areas and will generate more employment opportunities thereby increasing the standard of living of the tribal people in the state. This scheme tends to benefit about 1.26 lakh tribal farmers across the state.

- CM stated, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana for the benefit of tribal farmers, when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat years back
- And now this current government has decided to keep up with ensuring the benefit of tribal people in the state and thus Rs.1 lakh crores will be spent in the next 4 years for their welfare
- Under this scheme, about 1.26 lakh tribal farmers will be benefited in the state
