केरल में रोगियों की देखभाल करने वालों के लिए अस्वसाकिरणम योजना (हिंदी में)
The State Government of Kerala has come up with the scheme for caregivers of physically and mentally disabled bed-ridden patients called Aswasakiranam Scheme. The government intentionally started this scheme for caregivers who are family members or relatives of the bedridden patients, as they are not in a position to take up employment for self. In this scheme, the government intends to provide monthly financial assistance for caregivers of all bed-ridden patients who need a constant caretaker. There are several diseases are covered in this scheme such as all bed-ridden patients who need a full-time caregiver, mentally challenged patient (Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental retardation, Mental illness), 100 % blind patient, Bed-ridden cancer patients, old-aged bed-ridden & Brittle bone disease. Kerala government started the various scheme for the welfare of the people. Despite this achievement, there are not much more done for the home care treatment. Many of the families in Kerala depend upon home treatment because they cannot afford to treat the patients in hospitals & most of these patients are treated at home. Regarding this, Kerala government took initiative for caregivers of patients and provides the financial assistance
Benefits of Aswasakiranam Scheme:
- Government provide a monthly assistance of Rs. 525/- to caregivers of all bed-ridden patients who need a full-time caregiver
Eligibility for Aswasakiranam Scheme:
- Applicant should be resident of Kerala state
- Caregivers who are taking care of patients are eligible for this scheme
- A family member or close relative, who are unemployed without any source of income and who are at home to take care of the bed-ridden patient is eligible for Aswasakiranam Scheme
- Applicant should belong to below poverty line
- Paid caregivers/ home nurses are not eligible for this scheme
- The assistance will be stopped when the caregiver stops caring for the patient or dies
Documents required for Aswasakiranam Scheme:
- Aadhaar card
- Medical certificate of patient
- Passport size Photos of bedridden patient attested by Doctor
- Bank account details
- Ration card
- BPL card
How to apply for Aswasakiranam Scheme:
- Fill the application form and attached all the documents
- Then, submit the form to the Kerala Social Security Mission office
- Applicant also visit Social Justice Department in Kerala
