On May 30, 2021 the Bihar government announced a new scheme named ‘Bal Sahayata Yojana’ for the children facing hardships due to the pandemic situations. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Under this scheme the state government will take various welfare measures pay for those children who lost their parents (at least one of them due to covid). The state government will provide a financial assistance of Rs. 1,500 per month to the children till they attain the age of 18. Children with no guardian or care taker will be provided shelter at state government’s children’s homes. The orphan girls will also be admitted at the Kasturba Gandhi residential girls’ schools. This scheme is an important step taken by the state government to take care of the beneficiary children in these tough times.
