The Bal Sakha Yojana is started by Gujarat government (Health and Family Welfare Department) to make accessible expert care by the private pediatrician to all BPL and tribal children born under the ambit (range) of the Chiranjeevi Yojana or in Government Healthcare institution. It is also meant for all the children up to 1 month age identified at risk by Mamta Abhiyan and IMNCI trained health worker. Under this scheme, the pediatrician attends all eligible newborns at the place of birth and has to ensure their survival by providing early neonatal care including immunizations at birth, nutrition advice, etc

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Bal Sakha Yojana (BSY):
- The children born private hospital or in government healthcare institution which running Chiranjeevi Yojana that child is eligible
- All newborn babies belong to BPL or APL and tribal category are eligible for Bal Sakha Yojana
- Middle class (with income limit of Rs. 2 lakh)
- Child who born at home, subcenter or a PHC are eligible
Document required for applying Bal Sakha Yojana (BSY):
- The women required to have BPL or APL ration card
- Tribal certificate
- Authorization by local recognized authority
- Application form is available with hospital itself
- Income certificate of parents up to Rs. 2 lakh

- Women can contact to primary social worker ASHA present in all village and urban area
- Anganwadi centers
- Women can contact to District Development officer or Chief District Health Officer if she faces any obstacles while availing benefits
