UP state government has started Bijli Sakhi Yojana for providing employment to women in state. CM Yogi Adityanath launched this scheme in May 2020. Under this scheme the women volunteers are trained and appointed for conducting bill collection. Women appointed will collect power bill payment from the homes of the residents. This scheme would provide employment to the women. Residents will get an ease of paying the bill amount from their homes rather than going to the government office. It aims at women empowerment and increased standard of living.
