Chattisgargh Assembly Elections 2018 Dates: CH Vidhan Sabha Chunav voting, counting/result dates & last date for nominations

Chattisgargh State Legislative Assembly Elections are announced and the Chattisgargh Assembly Elections 2018 Dates are 12th Noverber and 20th November 2018. The Chief Election Commissioner Shree O. P. Rawat ancouned the CH Vidhan Sabha Chunav in an official press conference. Elections will be conducted in five more states in India. The state which are going to polls along with Chattisgargh are Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan and Mizoram. Elections will be conducted in two phases in the Chattisgargh due to naxal affected areas.

PHASE 1:

  • Date of issue of gazette notification: 16th October 2018
  • Last date of filling nominations / candidature (submission of election form): 23rd October 2018
  • Scrutiny of nominations: 24th October 2018
  • Last date of withdrawal of nominations: 26th October 2018
  • Date of polling/voting for Vidhan Sabha: 12th November 2018
  • Date of counting / poll result announcements: 11th December 2018

PHASE 2:

  • Date of issue of gazette notification: 26th October 2018
  • Last date of filling nominations / candidature (submission of election form): 2nd November 2018
  • Scrutiny of nominations: 3rd November 2018
  • Last date of withdrawal of nominations: 5th November 2018
  • Date of polling/voting for Vidhan Sabha: 20th November 2018
  • Date of counting / poll result announcements: 11th December 2018

Chattisgargh State Legislative Assembly has total 91 seats out of which 90 Members of Legislatives Assembly (MLA) are elected and one is nominated. Presently Chattisgargh has BJP government in power lead by Chief Minister Shree Raman Singh. Chattisgargh is one of the young states and has seen 4 state assembly elections so far. The CH state elections 2018 will elect 5th legislative assembly.

The Chattisgargh state election commission is responsible for conducting elections and they have big challenge of conducting elections especially in the nexal affected areas in the state.

Indian National Congress (INC) and Bhartiya Jantiya Party (BJP) are the major parties contesting elections in the state. The election commission has already enforced Model Code of Conduct in the state as the Chattisgargh Assembly Elections 2018 Dates are announced. The Congress candidates lists and BJP candidates lists will be announced soon. All the parties are identifying candidates to give party tickets for CH Vidhan Sabha elections 2018.

  • According to Chattisgargh Exit Polls 2018 37% of the voters would like to see BJP`s Raman Singh as CM once again where as 17% preferred Congress Ajit Jogi, 9% people chose Bhupesh Baghel as next Chief Minister of the state.
  • Chattisgargh Opinion Poll 2018 conducted by most of the agencies say that there are 39% of the votes will go to BJP, 40% to Congress and 21% will go to other parties and independent.
