Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme for government college students

On December 1, 2021 Punjab state cabinet headed by Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi approved implementation of Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme for government college students in the state. This scheme is applicable to students pursuing higher education in the government colleges in the state. This scheme intends to help the meritorious students in the state mainly from general category. Under this scheme the state government will provide financial assistance to the students based on their college fees. This scheme also intends to increase the Gross Enrolment Ration in state government colleges in the state. Financial implication of this scheme is estimated to be Rs. 36.05 crores.
