DPDC Plant Protection Scheme in Maharashtra

DPDC plant protection scheme is launched by government of Maharashtra for farmers. This plant protection scheme is implemented by agriculture department of Maharashtra. Under this scheme, the government provide 50% subsidy on pesticides for foliar spray on vegetables, fruits crop, flowers crop , spice crop, medicinal plant etc. for prevention of diseases on the plant. District Planning and Development Council (DPDC) implement this scheme on district level and provide 50% subsidy on fertilizers per hectares. This scheme is implemented in all districts in Maharashtra such as Amravati, Thane, Nasik, Jalgaon, nandurbar, Akola, yavtamal, washim, buldahana, hingoli, palghar, gadchiroli, wardha, bid,raigad, ratnagiri, sindhu-durga, latur, Aurangabad, chandrapur etc. The agriculture department also provide subsidy on pesticides in this particular year for banana plant, mango plant coconut tree, cashew nut, potato, onion etc. The main purpose of this scheme is to provide the subsidy to the farmer for prevention of various disease on the crops. This scheme is beneficial for farmers to increase production and helps to fight against diseases on the crops. The Maharashtra government can spend 50% subsidy on fertilizer and remaining 50% cost of fertilizers is used by individual farmers. All farmers can purchase required pesticides for agriculture from government recognize department for sale of ┬аpesticides in district

Eligibility of DPDC Plant Protection Scheme:

  1. All farmers are eligible for this scheme

Implementation of DPDC Plant Protection Scheme:

  1. The DPDC plant protection scheme is implemented by agriculture department of Maharashtra
  2. District Planning and Development Council (DPDC) is implementing this scheme in district level
  3. The agriculture officer on district level can get the list of beneficiary farmers and provide 50% subsidy to the farmers

Application procedure:

  1. A farmer may visit agriculture department in Maharashtra
  2. A farmer also talk with agriculture officer visit to villages
  3. A farmer can visit Zilla Parishad or gram panchayat for more details about DPDC plant protection scheme
