The Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme launched by Central Government and implemented by Haryana State Government, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The scheme is specially introduced for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe to support them financially. The main objective behind introducing this scheme is to provide 100% financial assistance to take treatment for life-threatening diseases like e.g. Heart Surgery, Kidney Surgery/ Dialysis, Cancer Surgery / Chemotherapy / Radiotherapy etc. The scheme is meant to provide medical treatment facility to the patients suffering from serious ailments. Forgetting benefits under this scheme applicant candidate need to get Original Estimated Cost certificate duly signed by the Medical Superintendent of the concerned hospital and need to qualify some eligibility criteria
Benefits of Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme:
- Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme provides benefits by providing all cost required to undertake treatment. Rates of financial assistance mentioned below
- Heart Surgery: Rs. 1.25 lakh
- Kidney Surgery/ Dialysis: Rs. 3.5 lakh
- Cancer Surgery / Chemotherapy / Radiotherapy: Rs. 1.75 lakh
- Brain Surgery: Rs. 1.50 lakh
- Kidney/ Organ Transplant: Rs. 1.50 lakh
- Spinal Surgery: Rs. 1.00 lakh
- Other life-threatening diseases: Rs. 1.00 lakh
- 100% of the estimated cost of the treatment will be directly released to the concerned Hospital
Required eligibility and conditions for applying Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme:
- The applicant should belong to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Community
- Annual family income should not more than Rs. 1,00,000 per annum
- Those who are suffering from major ailments which need surgery such as kidney, heart, liver, cancer, brain or any other life-threatening disease including knee surgery and spinal surgery are eligible

- Application Form
- Original Estimated Cost certificate duly signed by the Medical Superintendent of the concerned hospital
- Income certificate
- Caste certificate
- BPL Ration card
- Identity card
- Aadhar card
- Residence proof
- Passport size photograph
Application procedure:
- The applicant shall apply for medical aid in the prescribed application form, duly certified by the Medical Superintendent of the concerned Hospital

- The application shall be recommended and forwarded by the Members of the General Body of Dr. Ambedkar Foundation or local sitting Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha) or by the District Magistrate & Collector / Deputy Commissioner of the concerned District or the Secretary in-charge of Health & Social Welfare Departments of the State/UT. The duly filled in form should reach the Director, Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, 15, Janpath, New Delhi, at least 15 days before the date of surgery. All the applications received will be processed in Dr. Ambedkar Foundation
