The Government of India has launched a e-Visa application portal indianvisaonline.gov.in for foreign nationals to provide them visa online. Foreign nationals from selected countries can now apply and get Indian visa completely online. The portal is launched under GOI`s popular Digital India mission and provides convenience, ease of application and transparency in the visa application.

Eligibility to apply online for e-Visa India / Who can apply for Indian e-visa?

  1. Purpose of Visit: Foreign nationals/international travelers who wants to visit India as tourists for sight seeing or for recreational or casual visit to meet friends / relatives for medical treatment or casual business visit
  2. Passport Validity: Applicant`s passport must be valid for next six months from the date of arrival
  3. Tickets & Bank Balance: The travelers must have returned or onward journey ticket and also should have sufficient money to support his/her stay in India
  4. Pakistani passport holders cannot apply for e-visa and need to apply for regular visa at India Embassy/Mission/Post
  5. Diplomats / official passport holders cannot apply for e-visa India
  6. Documents required for e-Visa India:

  1. Scanned bio-page of the passport: hospital letter in case of e-Medical Visa, business card in case of e-Business Visa, invitation letter of institute in case of e-Business GIAN Visa
  2. Digital photograph, format: JPEG, size: min 10 KB max 1 MB, height and weight must be same of the photograph without border, clear photograph with white/plain background

STEP 2: Upload scanned copies of required documents (passport size photograph, first and last pages of the passport), make a note of your application ID

STEP 3: CLICK HERE, specify your application ID along with birth date and pay fees online

STEP 4: CLICK HERE, specify your application ID, passport no, port of arrival, date of birth, visa type etc and donwload your visa

STEP 5: Carry the printed copy of your visa during travel to India
