We always see that child of a doctor dreams of becoming a doctor, business man’s child a businessman and this trend is on. But no one will find a child of construction worker willing to become a construction worker, for these education is must but being from a daily wage workers family affording educational expenses is tough for them. For such workers families Orissa government launched a scheme named “Educational Assistance for Both Son and Daughter of Construction Worker” under which government provides financial assistance to the children of construction workers to undertake their 10+2 education and bachelors as well as post-graduation degrees. It is great initiative by the Orissa Government because everyone needs one chance and these children also deserves the same and that is what government is providing to them. Assistance is given in annual form so that they can pay the fees and rest expenses has to bear by student himself/herself.
Benefits of Educational Assistance for Both Son and Daughter of Construction Worker:
- Class 11th and 12th: Students who are pursuing 10+2 education will get Rs. 5000 per annum
- For B.A./B.Sc/B.Com./PG: Students in their bachelors will get financial assistance of 7,000 per annum
- ITI diploma: Now a days there are more employment opportunities after ITI as well and students undertaking it will get Rs. 7, 000 per annum
- For Diploma/Poly-technique: Other diplomas than ITI and poly-technique courses will bring Rs. 10, 000 financial assistance per annum to the children
- For B.tech/MCA/MBA/B.Arch/M.Arch/M.tech/M.Sc./B.Pharm/M.Pharm/Hotel Management and Catering Services/Medical: Since the courses are little expensive and well reputed students will get financial assistance of Rs 40,000 per annum
- Opportunity to improve economic condition: With the scheme there are fare chances that even the construction worker community gets opportunity to improve their economic conditions and provide education to their children
Eligibility for Educational Assistance for Both Son and Daughter of Construction Worker:
- Worker must be Orissa state resident
- Student must be child of construction worker
- Construction Worker must be registered with Odisha Building and Odisha Construction Worker Welfare Board for minimum of 3 years
Documents Required:
- BPL card
- Admission Letter of the college
- Bonafied Certificate
- Previous Year mark sheet/degree/diploma
- Agreement signed paper with Odisha Building & Odisha Construction Worker Welfare Board (for parent)
- Certificate from the construction company for whom he/she is working and in which state they are working (for parent)
- Resident Proofs (Voter Id, Aadhar Card, Electricity bill (if any), Driving license)
- Aadhar Card
Application form:
To get the benefit of the scheme and get grant sanctioned, beneficiary only need to visit Dist. Labour Officer and apply for the grant. The process is very simple and user friendly
