The Educational Loan Scheme for Minority students is started by West Bengal government (West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation) for students who wish to pursue higher education. Maximum Rs.20 lakh for pursuing professional courses like Medical, Engineering, Management, Nursing, Law etc will be awarded to candidate under the education loan scheme

Benefits of Educational Loan Scheme for Minority Students:
- The education loan scheme provides benefits to candidates in manner sanctioned education loan
- Loan up to Maximum Rs.10 lakh for 5 years course in India
- Loan up to Maximum Rs.20 lakh for 5 years course in abroad
- For pursuing professional courses like Medical, Engineering, Management, Nursing, Law in India and abroad
- Rate of Interest 3% per annum
Required eligibility and conditions for applying Educational Loan Scheme for Minority Students:
- The candidate must belong to minority community
- Annual family income 1, 03,000 for urban area and Rs. 81, 000 for rural area
- Age group: 16-32 years
- Candidate must be the citizen of India and domicile of West Bengal
- Candidate should have obtained minimum 50% marks in the last final examination of the Board/ University
Document required for applying Educational Loan Scheme for Minority Students:
- Declaration certificate of minority
- Income certificate of respective amount mentioned above
- Birth certificate
- Bank details, account number, account holder name, IFSC code, MICR code
- Aadhar card
- Residence certificate e.g. certificate from residence authority
- Fees structure certificate from college/institution
- Self-attested copy of Marks Sheet of the last qualifying examination of the Board/ University
- Domicile certificate
- Passport size photo
Application procedure:
- The eligible students can apply Online at www.wbmdfc.net and after finalizing print out a hard copy
- Students are required to submit duly signed the printed version of their online applications to their respective institutes for verification of information given in the online application. The hard copy of the online application is to be certifying by the head of the respective institute and student will submit the authenticated to WBMDFC’s Head Office
- Bank Account to be opened jointly in the name of student and parent or legal guardian if selected
- Eligible students are required to provide eligible guarantors and execute other relevant documents if selected
