The Indian Railway has launched new feature for filling Zero FIR for the passengers who are traveling in the trains. The complaint can be filed with the Indian Railway mobile app while on-board the trains. Their complaint will be immediately investigated by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), TTEs. Passenger now on don`t need to wait till the next stations. The new feature will curb the crime on board trains and provide safety to the railway passengers. Government is running a pilot project with which passengers can register FIR about the harassment, theft, crime against women using the mobile app in Madhya Pradesh and the same will be implemented across the country.
What is Zero FIR? Till today the complaints while on-board trains can be filed only with the TTE. They has a complaint form which the passengers needs to fill in and submit. The TTEs then needs to submit the form to the RPF on the next station and then subsequently the action will be taken by then the criminals used to flee away. Now with the Zero FIRs it can be done while traveling without waiting for the next station or TTEs. Zero FIRs can be filed in any police irrespective of the jurisdiction. This FIR will be transfered to the appropriate police station.
Indian Railways Zero FIR Mobile App: Both iOS and android versions of the app will have the Zero FIR filing feature. Passengers will now get the immediate relief as the complaint will be notified to the on board RPF officer onboard who will provide safety to the passengers and the criminals will not get chance to run away. It will provide immediate relief.
Panic Button for Women: The app will have a panic button for women. They will get immediate relief in the situation of distressed. Complaints from women will be taken up with the highest priority and an immediate action will be taken.
Apart from mobile app Zero FIRs can be filed offline as well.
