The Financial Assistance for the Marriage of Daughter of Widows or Extremely Poor Women Belonging to SC. This scheme is launched by Central Government and implemented by Chandigarh and some other union territory, Ministry of Social justice and Empowerment. Under this scheme financial assistance of Rs. 20, 000 is provided for the marriage of daughters of Widows/ Destitute Women belonging to the Scheduled Caste Communities who are living below poverty line. The main objective behind introducing this scheme is to help poor women or widow women to reduce burden of daughter’s marriage. For getting eligible under this scheme applicant candidate must qualify some eligibility norms which are mentioned below in the article. - Financial Assistance for the Marriage of Daughter of Widows or Extremely Poor Women Belonging to SC provides benefits in the form of financial assistance
- Under this scheme, applicant girl is provided financial assistance of Rs. 20,000 one time
- The scheme will help to poor and widow women who endure the burden of daughter’s marriage
Required eligibility and conditions for applying Financial Assistance for the Marriage of Daughter of Widows or Extremely Poor Women Belonging to SC:
- Mother of the girl should belong to the Scheduled Caste community
- The assistance is admissible for the marriage of two daughters in a family
- Girl should be at least be 18 years of age on the date of marriage
- For the first marriage only
- Family income should not exceed Rs. 2000 per month (To be verified by the Tahsildar)
- Resident of UT, Chandigarh for more than 3 years
- If both the parents of the bride are dead, the legal guardian will be entitled to this assistance
Document required for applying Financial Assistance for the Marriage of Daughter of Widows or Extremely Poor Women Belonging to SC:
- Death certificate of father of girl
- Caste certificate
- Age proof of the girl
- Aadhar card
- Residence proof of three years (Voter Card, Ration Card, Electricity Bill, Water Bill etc.)
- Legal Guardian certificate in case of both the parents had died
- Passport size photograph
Application procedure:
- Applicant can collect application form nearer Social Welfare Office of Taluka level or District level and after filling that form applicant can submit that application form that office itself along with all documents
