Gaura Devi Kanya Dhan Yojana is a flagship scheme started by the Social Welfare Department (Government of Uttarakhand) for girls. Under the Gaura Devi Kanyaadhan Yojana, the government provides the fund of Rs. 50,000 for those girls who have completed Intermediate class from any State Government/Central Government schools. The girls who belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Below Poverty Line families living in the state of Uttarakhand can get benefits of this scheme. The main aim of the scheme is to improve the education and well-being of girls & specifically those girls who belong to below poverty line (BPL). This scheme will provide better opportunities for increase higher education ratio and enhance their employability and empowerment through education. This scheme also helps to change negative aspect of a family & community attitudes towards the girl child and towards her mother, to improve enrollment and retention of girl children in schools, to raise the marriage age of girls

Benefits of Gaura Devi Kanya Dhan Yojana:

• The government provides the fund of Rs. 50,000 for those girls who have completed Intermediate class from any State Government or Central Government  recognized schools/college

Eligibility for Gaura Devi Kanya Dhan Yojana:

1. The applicant should be a resident of Uttarakhand state
2. Girl students should be class 12^th student
3. Applicant should belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Below Poverty Line families
4. Annual family income for rural areas should be below Rs 15976 per year and annual and for urban areas should be below of Rs. 21206 per year
5. Applicant should be unmarried and girls age should be below 25 years old
6. Maximum two girls of one family can get benefits of Gaura Devi Kanya Dhan Yojana

Documents required for Gaura Devi Kanya Dhan Yojana:

1. Aadhaar card
2. Caste certificate
3. BPL card
4. Income certificate
5. Intermediate Passing Accountant
6. High school mark sheet
7. Passport size photos
8. Family register copy

2. now, fill the application form and attached all the essential documents which are mentioned above
3. Thereafter, applicant should submit the form to the school/college principal with the necessary documents
