The chief minister of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee has launched Green City Yojana to Developed Cities & Villages in Kolkata. The scheme is implementing by the Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) and already started preparing a plan to develop new town as a Green City. Under this scheme, the government has planned to construct bridges, parks; ponds and government also fix CCTV cameras in every street in the city at various locations. The government will focus on improving the environment of the state under Green City scheme. In this mission, the government plans to redeveloped all cities, villages, and towns of the district and for implement this scheme, Government has decided to invest Rs. 400 crore. The state forest department will do massive plantation this monsoon and about 40,000 seedlings are expected to be planted at various places in the township. Green City Yojana provide fundamental services or facilities like Wi-Fi, water supply, electricity supply, park, health care and healthy environment in all cities and towns in West Bengal
