The State Government of Assam (Social Welfare Department) has started a home scheme for Destitute & Helpless Widow women in Assam. The main purpose of the scheme is to provide shelter & food to the Destitute & Helpless Widow women in the state. In this home, training of crafts, cutting tailoring and embroidery etc. also provides to the women for their self-employment. The government is established this home in Dighaltari, Dhubri, Assam. The objective of this scheme is to provide the homes to the destitute and widows for making their life easy after the death of their husbands. The Assam government took the very good initiative by providing them training in this homes and it will improve the poor economic condition of the widows in the society which will directly help them to make their life easy. For getting benefits of this scheme applicant women need to qualify some eligibility criteria

- Aadhaar card
- Death certificate of husband in case of widow
