Chief Minister Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana for Rural Development in Assam

Chief Minister Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY) is a five years mega-mission launched by the State Government of Assam in the Financial Year (FY) 2016-17. The main purpose to start this mega-mission is to double the farm income. At the current rate of growth, it will take about 80 years to double the farm income in Assam. But under CMSGUY mission, government initiate massive investments in rural areas for complete rural empowerment in a period of five years in a focused and concerted manner to realize the dream of doubling the farm income. The government invested more than of Rs. 30,000 crore and it will be implemented in all villages in Assam in next five years i.e. 2021-22. This scheme implemented with the help of saturation model by covering each revenue village through focused interventions indirect economic activities, the logistic support including market linkages, and community support. The aim of the mission is to increase rural income generation, Convergence of departmental schemes, Improving irrigation facilities, Skill development, and Village base eco & rural tourism. The government has taken excellent intuitive for development of villages and rural areas in Assam

How to implement Chief Minister Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana:

1. The scheme implemented in a mission mode through the next five years
2. The state government constitute five teams in each block for the implementation of different mission under the scheme
3. The teams would be responsible for creating development plans and implementing them into the villages that come under their block
4. Each village under the scheme would get its own village knowledge center and a playground
