Harayana farmers to get financial assistance, social security pension & insurance

The Harayana government has announced Mukhyamantri Parivar Samman Nidhi (MPSN) scheme for farmers in the state. Farmers will be given financial assistance & security under the scheme. Harayana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced the scheme during the state budget 2019-20. The scheme covers all the farmers with less than acres of cultivable land & landless laborers.

Beneficiaries:Small farmers & laborers

Benefits: Financial assistance or pension will be provided to the beneficiaries under the scheme they can opt for any of the following benefits:

  • Financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 every year or
  • Rs. 36,000 after five years or
  • Pension of Rs. 3,000 or Rs. 15,000 per month after the age of 60 years or
  • Financial assistance of Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 30,000 after five years
  • Insurance cover for the beneficiary & the premium will be paid by government
  • Insurance of Rs. 2 lakh on the non-natural death & Rs. 1 lakh on disability

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicable in Haryana state residents only
  • Applicable to farmer with less than 5 acres of land
  • Income Limit: Applicable only to those farmers or laborers with monthly income less than Rs. 15,000
  • Age Limit: Applicable for the farmers of various age groups starting from 18 to more than 60 years

Mukhyamantri Parivar Samman Nidhi (MPSN) Categories / Payment Options:

  • Financial Assistance of Rs. 6,000/year: Rs. 6,000 will be deposited in the bank account of the head of the family in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 every year
  • Financial Assistance of Rs. 36,000 after 5 Years: Beneficiary family needs to nominate a member from the family & financial assistance of Rs. 36,000 will be given after completion of 5 years
  • Pension: Nominated beneficiary will get pension of Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 15,000 per month after the age of 60 years
  • Financial Assistance of Rs. 15,000 – Rs. 30,000: Based on the option selection Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 30,000 will be given to the nominated beneficiary after 5 years

The nominated beneficiary will also have the option of insurance cover. The premium for the insurance scheme will be paid by the Haryana government.
