Apply online and offline for Ration Card in Madhya Pradesh

Ration Card is an essential document for availing necessary basic food items at lower prices. It is issued by the respective state government based on the income/economic status. It can be applied by any resident irrespective of caste.

Need of Ration Card:

Ration Card is required as an identity proof, for getting necessary food items at lower prices, for availing reservation, as a proof while applying for Aadhaar Card, Domicile Certificate, etc.

Types of Ration card:

  • BPL ration card – It is issued to the families below poverty line with an annual income of less than Rs. 10,000/-.
  • APL ration card – It is issued to the families above poverty line with an annual income of more than Rs. 10,000/-
  • AAY- Antyodaya ration card – It is issued to the families who are extremely poor with no fixed income or no means of earning income

Important documents required while applying for a Ration Card:

Proof of Identity: Any 1 of the following documents

  • PAN Card
  • Election Card
  • Passport
  • Driving License
  • Identity Card/document issued by Govt. organisation

Proof of Address: Any 1 of the following documents

  • Election Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Electricity Bill
  • Telephone bill

Composite ID

Passport sized photo

Income proof

Bank Passbook

The above-mentioned original documents are to be produced for verification and these are to be submitted in copies for further process.

Eligibility:

  • Applicant and his/her family members should be Citizens of India
  • The applicant and his/her family should mandatory be a residents of Madhya Pradesh state

How to Apply for Ration card:

One can apply for Ration Card in Madhya Pradesh either Online or Offline:

For Applying Online:

  • The applicant is required to visit the official samagra portal @ samagra.gov.in

  • Language settings can be adjusted as per preference
  • Then create a composite ID on the same portal. One has to register the family on the portal, even new members can be added to the registered family later.

  • For registration fill in the details like full address details, caste, religion
  • Also fill in the family head details like full name, gender, DOB, marital status, Aadhaar no., mobile no. and email id

  • Upload the necessary documents in the prescribed format. Then add the family members and their details. Click on Register application.

  • Then post verification, an ID will be issued for the entire family
  • For BPL and AAY, applicant then has to go to BPL samagra portal @bpl.samagra.gov.in

  • Then on the home page, click on Apply online for verification in the list of BPL families in the family
  • Enter the ID received after registration and enter the captcha code.
  • Then click on Go

  • After clicking on go, the applicant will be redirected to the application page, fill in the remaining details, and verify the already filled details as per the ID registration
  • Then, click on Apply tab for final submission.
  • After processing, the ration card will be issued to the applicant
  • For APL families the applicant can visit the concerned office with the ID and fill the form and submit for verification.
  • The applicant can also check the family name in the newly added list on the portal also can check the status of the application

For Applying Offline:

  • Visit the nearest Ration shop/ Assistant supply officer/ Chief municipal officer
  • Get the application form (Hard copy)
  • Manually fill it, sign the declaration, paste photograph and submit it in the office with all the necessary documents. Fee payment is to be made if required
  • On getting the application form, applicant will get a receipt/ reference no. as acknowledgement from the office.
  • Application will be verified by the Supply officer
  • After thorough verification of documents submitted, the Ration card will be issued and sent to the registered address by post.

Processing Time: A period of 2-3 weeks is required for processing a Ration card in Madhya Pradesh

Validity: Ration card is valid for lifetime and is to be renewed after 5 years.
