The Government of India has launched a national challenge called Ideate for India – Creative Solutions using Technology. It is a national level competition for students of class 6th till class 12th. The online registrations for participation in the competitions have started from 6th December 2018. The registrations can be made online on the National e-Governance Division, Digital India official portal ideateforindia.negd.in / negd.in
What is Ideate for India? A national competition by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology & Intel for students to become solution creator.
- A challenge / problem is given to the participants
- They then need to think about an innovative solutions to the problem with the use of the technology &
- Submit their ideas
- The best solutions will be declared winners
Objectives:
- To empower youth & participate them in the nation building
- To provide a platform to them to showcase their talent
Ideate for India Themes, Categories & Phases:
Themes: Health, Education, Environment, Women Safety, Traffic, Infrastructure, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Disable, Travel, Digital Literacy
Categories: Junior (classes 6–8) and Senior (classes 9-12)
Phases:
Phase 1:
- Students selects their problems & submit their idea/solutions by uploading a video
- They will be given online participation certificate for idea submission
- An expert panel will review ideas & select top 10 from each state/UTs
- Total 360 students will be invited for phase 2
Phase 2:
- 5 residential boot camps will be organized
- The camps will be in North, South, East, West & North-East India
- Selected students will be invited for the boot camp
- A face to face interview will be conducted
- The participants will be alloted mentors
- Participants needs to create prototypes of the solutions
- 50 students will be selected for the national level competition
Phase 3:
- Selected 50 students to attend and present their prototypes
- Best ideas will be declared as Tech Creation Champions
Who can participate? Students all across India from class 6th till class 12th can apply
