Tamil Nadu government launched a scheme which is meant for the betterment of rural women. The scheme provides incentive to rural girl student to support their education till some extent. It is one of the initiative to empower rural women by promoting education among them. There is special category specified to whom special preference is given while giving incentives. The scheme primarily focus on backward categories where major population is either destitute or having severe family issues with someone facing caste discrimination too.
Benefits of Incentive for Rural MBC/DNC Girl Student:
- Incentive to the girl student who are in 3rd to 5th : The scheme provides incentive of Rs. 500 per year to girl student who is in 3rd to 5th standards
- Incentive to the girl student who are in 6th standard: The scheme provides incentive of Rs. 1000 per year who are in 6th standard
- Special preferences to girl having severe conditions: Girl whose mother is widow/abandoned/extremely poor are given special preferences
Eligibility for Incentive for Rural MBC/DNC Girl Student:
- Candidate must be from BC/MBC/DNC category
- Her family annual income must not exceed Rs. 25, 000 per year
- Candidate must be resident of Tamil Nadu
- Girl student’s mother must have an account in Post Office Saving Account
Documents Required:
- Complete application form
- Caste Certificate
- Address proof (e.g. Aadhar Card, Electricity bill, Gas connection receipt, Water supply bill or Voter id)
- Post Office Saving Account Details having (bank name, branch name, account holder name, IFSC & MICR code)
- Educational qualification mark sheets, degrees and certificates
- Family income certificate

Application forms are available at school itself. Every village has govt. schools where the student may apply to avail the incentive
