The chief minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot has launched a new employment scheme called ‘Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Scheme’. Under the scheme state government will provide 100 days of employment to families residing in urban areas in a year across the state.

According to the scheme age group between the minimum of 18 years and the maximum of 60 years categories can apply. Unskilled labor of the state will get Rs.259 per day as wage, skilled workers will get Rs. 283 per day and domestic helpers will get Rs.271 per day. Around 250,000 people will become beneficiaries of the scheme and get job cards through registration.
Under the scheme; work will be related to environmental protection, water conservation, sanitation, prevention of property defacement, convergence works, service-related works, and heritage conservation.
