The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved Indira Grah Jyoti Yojana (IGJY) to provide subsidized electricity to all the households in the state. Under the scheme all those households which consumer 100 units of electricity every month will just have to pay electricity bill of Rs. 100 only. The scheme is for all the general electricity consumers in MP which includes all the sections of the society.
The primary objective of the scheme is to provide financial relief to the citizens of the state specially for poor families. It will reduce the burden of increasing electricity bills. It will also encourage people to save electricity.

IGJY Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicable only in Madhya Pradesh
- Applicable to all the general electricity consumers who consumer less than 100 units every month
- Beneficiaries of Saral & Sambhal Yojana are eligible also
Indira Grah Jyoti Yojana Benefits:
- Monthly electricity bill of Rs. 100 for less than 100 unit of consumption
NOTE: If the consumption is more than 100 units then the consumer needs to pay complete electricity bill at the standard rates.
The scheme will cost Rs 2,226 crore to the state government. The state cabinet also approved Yuva Swabhiman Yojana for the unemployed education youth in the urban areas. They will be given assured employment for 100 days in a year. A yearly stipend of Rs. 13,000 & skills training also will be given to the jobless youth.
