On the occasion International Labour Day on May 1, 2021, Uttar Pradesh government came up with 2 insurance schemes for the labourers across the state. Under first insurance scheme, Rs. 2 lakhs insurance cover will be provided to the labourers in the state for accidents leading to death/ disability. Under second insurance scheme, Rs. 5 lakhs insurance cover will be provided to the labourers for protecting their health and their overall wellbeing. All the labourers across the state will be covered under these schemes.
