Telangana government is about to start a new scheme named “KCR Apathbandhu” for overall development of Most Backward Classes (MBCs) in the state. It will be implemented by Telangana State Backward Class(BC) Corporation. This scheme will enable overall development of the conditions of people belonging to all the castes which are covered under Most Backward Class in the state. Efforts will be taken to enable the people to earn their living and improve their standard of living. It aims to make them self-reliant with improved socio-economic backgrounds. State government has set aside a budget of Rs. 5,500 crores for the overall upliftment and welfare of backward categories in the state this financial year and a major part of this budget is planned to be allocated for this scheme.

Scheme Objectives and Benefits:
- The main objective of the scheme is to empower the people belonging to Most Backward Classes
- This scheme aims to provide financial and social stability to the beneficiaries
- It also aims at upliftment of the beneficiaries in the society
- It will include various measures for providing employment, self-employment opportunities and social security for them
- For employment, youth will be provided with ambulances and will be connected with hospitals, women will be provided with sewing machines, thereby quality of life will be focused on
- It will better the way of living of the beneficiaries and their families thereby belonging to the scheduled castes in the state

- Scheme implementation will be keenly taken care of by the Telangana State Backward Classes (BC) Corporation and will be reported directly to the chief minister
- It will thereby lead to improved financial and social stability of the beneficiaries belonging to the Most Backward Classes (MBCs) in the state
