Telangana government is about to start a new scheme named “KCR Apathbandhu” for overall development of Most Backward Classes (MBCs) in the state. It will be implemented by Telangana State Backward Class(BC) Corporation. This scheme will enable overall development of the conditions of people belonging to all the castes which are covered under Most Backward Class in the state. Efforts will be taken to enable the people to earn their living and improve their standard of living. It aims to make them self-reliant with improved socio-economic backgrounds. State government has set aside a budget of Rs. 5,500 crores for the overall upliftment and welfare of backward categories in the state this financial year and a major part of this budget is planned to be allocated for this scheme.
