On October 27, 2021, the Civil Aviation Ministry started Krishi Udan 2.0 scheme for optimizing air transportation of agricultural produce. This scheme was launched by Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Under this scheme the central government will waive off various charges like parking charges, RNFC, TNLC and other charges. Reduction in sales tax, cargo related infrastructure will also be provided under this scheme. This scheme focuses on agricultural produce from Northeast, Tribal and Hilly regions in India. Under this scheme agriculture produce will be optimized by air transportation for linking it to the domestic and international markets. It tends to benefit the local farmers in the country thereby doubling their income.

Scheme Details:
- Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia launched a new scheme for optimizing air produce by air transportation.
- Under this scheme the aviation ministry aims at using airlines for transporting the local farm produce from Northeast, Tribal and Hilly regions in India to the domestic and international markets.
- This scheme also tends to cover north, western coast and south regions.
- This scheme will function in phases wherein cargo terminals will be started at 53 airports for transport of farm produce.
- In 2021-22 plan is to establish airports in Agartala, Srinagar, Dibrugarh, Dimapur, Hubli, Imphal, Jorhat, Lucknow, Silchar, Tezpur, Tirupati and Tuticorin.
- In 2022-23 establishments will be in Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Jharsuguda, Kozhikode, Mysore, Puducherry, Rajkot and Vijayawada.
