On November 10, 2021 Uttar Pradesh State Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath approved ‘Matrabhumi Yojana’ for development of villages through public and state contribution. Under this scheme the individuals who left their villages in Uttar Pradesh and are now residing in different cities or states or even abroad can contribute for the development of their villages. Individuals can make contribution in various rural developmental work projects covering areas like electricity, road, water supply, schools, etc. This scheme will be undertaken with 40% state government’s contribution and 60% contribution from the general public. It aims to provide them an opportunity to change the love for their village into service for the village. This scheme aims at making the rural areas self-reliant. It is an important step in the holistic development of villages in the state.
