Mission Youth, Jammu & Kashmir

Jammu & Kashmir state government launched Mission Youth as an ambitious initiative for the youth in the union territory. It aims at holistic development of the youth of J&K. Youth mission aims at supporting youth for achieving their aspirations and shaping their future. It also tends to provide financial assistance to the youth as required for achieving their dreams. It tends to encourage the youth to take up self-employment opportunities/ income generating activities. Youth mission aims to provide skill development training, professional counselling, employment opportunities, self-employment opportunities, etc. Youth mission covers youth all the 20 districts of J&K. It will enable youth to develop skills, take up entrepreneurship, utilise their full potential and emerge as an asset for the union territory as well as the nation.

• The main objective of the scheme is to support the youth of J&K to develop, achieve their aspirations, take up self-employment opportunities, etc
• Youth Mission tends to provide institutional mechanism, training, professional counselling, youth centres for development of youth
• Required skill development training will also be provided as required
• It aims at creating employment and income generating opportunities
• It aims to encourage youth to take up new ventures, thereby promoting self-employment
• Financial assistance, working based requirements, training etc will be taken care by the government under this mission
• It tends to make efforts for youth engagement and empowerment
• It will enable the youth to contribute in the economic development of the territory and thereby boost the economy in the long run

• This scheme will benefit students with coaching facilities, educational support and other measures.
• Youth covers a major chunk of Jammu & Kashmir’s total population; thus, efforts are being made to develop the youth thereby laying a foundation for brighter future
• Through Youth Mission, efforts are being made for youth engagement and empowerment to help them emerge as assets for the union territory as well as the nation
• It will help in the overall social and economic development of J&K in the long run
• The state government has also launched an official portal of the youth mission for providing real time details regarding the mission, schemes under the mission, training programs, etc
