Mo Kudia Housing Scheme for the Rural Poor and Needy

The Mo Kudia Housing Scheme for the Rural Poor and Needy started by Odisha State Government. The main objective of the scheme is to provide dwelling houses to the genuinely poor and needy rural, who need immediate shelter for a dignified existence.

It also provides for disaster resilient features in dwelling units means people affected by the disaster can come back to their original state under the benefits of this scheme. The Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Odisha acts as the nodal department for implementation of the scheme. Poor women in distress, physically challenged (over 40%), mentally challenged, victims of domestic violence, destitute widows, women-headed HHs, adult orphans of government registered institutions and victims of leprosy and AIDS these all people can become the beneficiary of this scheme or can get benefits of the scheme

  • Under this scheme dwelling houses to the genuinely poor and needy rural, who need immediate shelter for a dignified existence are provided
  • Scheme benefits to those HHs (Households) under BPL category which is deprived of getting the IAY (Indira Awas Yojana) houses due to non-inclusion of names in BPL list as prepared by the Govt. of India. An assistance of Rs. 10,000 is also tagged with Mo Kudia under “fully collapsed” category for flood damage
  • Affordable shelter for the masses or creation of productive and responsive housing for all will be done

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Mo Kudia Housing Scheme for the Rural Poor and Needy:

  1. Applicant must be permanent residents of Odisha state
  2. Applicant under BPL category is eligible
  3. Poor women in distress, physically challenged (over 40%), mentally challenged, victims of domestic violence, destitute widows, women-headed HHs (Households), adult orphans of government registered institutions and victims of leprosy and AIDS all are eligible
  4. Following mentioned categories of population may also be considered on priority basis
  5. Poor victims of ethnic and Naxal violence, Poor victims of fire or flood, Tribal HHs whose houses have “fully collapsed” due to elephant menace Primitive Tribe Groups (PTGs), Parents of Children Living with HIV and AIDS (CLHIV) who are under Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) treatment

  2. Permanent residence proof e.g. certificate from residence authority
  3. Medical proof that stating candidate is victim of leprosy and AIDS
