Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana, Rajasthan

Rajasthan government approved the draft of Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana on June 9, 2021. This approval was made by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. This scheme is planned for the agriculture electricity/ power consumers. Under this scheme, the metered agriculture consumers will get a grant of minimum Rs. 1,000 per month on the electricity bills. The maximum amount for this grant is Rs. 12,000 per year depending on the bill amount. The electricity distribution companies will issue bi-monthly electricity bills under this scheme. This scheme aims at helping the agriculture power consumers in the pandemic situations. It covers all the said beneficiaries only if the previous electricity bill dues are cleared by them.

• The main objective of the scheme is to provide assistance to the agriculture power consumers
• Under this scheme a minimum grant/ subsidy of Rs. 1000 will be given t the beneficiaries
• It tends to encourage consumers to settle the overdue power bills within the given time frame
• It will thereby lessen the burden of overdue power bill payment
• It is a welfare scheme launched especially for the agriculture power bill consumers amidst the pandemic situations
• All the agriculture power bill consumers across the state will be covered under this scheme

Scheme Details:

• Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot approved the draft of Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana on June 9, 2021
• This scheme was announced by the CM in the state budget of 2021-22
• This scheme is planned for the metered agriculture power bill consumers in the state
• Central government employees and income tax payers are not eligible for any grant/ subsidy under the scheme
• Under this scheme, the Rajasthan government will provide a grant/ subsidy of Rs. 1000/- every month to the beneficiaries
• A maximum subsidy of Rs. 12,000 will be per year will be given to the beneficiaries
• Under this scheme, the electricity distribution companies will issue bills to the beneficiaries on bi-monthly basis
• Eligible consumers will be required to have their Aadhaar number and bank account linked with the scheme
• Beneficiaries will get the grant amount only if the previous bill dues are cleared
• Once all the dues are cleared the subsidy/ grant amount will be paid to the beneficiary on the upcoming bill
• This scheme encourages settlement of the overdue power bills by the consumers
• It is a state welfare scheme planned for benefiting the farmers
