The Chief Minister of Odisha Navin Patnaik launched a scholarship scheme for students in the state called Mukhyamantri Medhabruti Scheme (Chief Minister`s Meritorious Scholarship). The objective of the scheme is to encourage students in the state to perform well in the matric exams. The schemes were launched in a Children`s Day event in Bhuvaneshwar. Under the Mukhyamantri Medhabruti Scheme 40,000 students in the Odisha will be given scholarship of Rs. 5,000 each for scoring good marks in the class X exams.
The Chief Minister announced 2 more schemes at the event:
- Odia Bhasa Medhabruti Scheme to promote the mother tung of the Odisha which is Odia language
- Mo School Campaign to connect aluminas to connect back to their school
Odia Bhasa Medhabruti Scheme:
This is a award/scholarship scheme under which Rs. 5,000 will be given to the students who score good marks in Odia language in class 10th exams. Top 10 students in each of state`s 314 blocks will be given the award scholarship.
Mo School Campaign Scheme:
The Mo School Campaign is to attract the aluminas of the school to contribute for the development of the school. The state government will allocate Rs. 100 crores for the scheme. Under the scheme if the alumini contributes for the development of the school then the government will pay the same amount to the school for the development.
Cash reward for teachers in Odisha:
Odisha Chief Minister announced a cash award of Rs. 1 lakh as well to encourage the teachers to give their best in teaching. In every block of the Odisha the top three schools that perform well in the class 10th exams will get a cash award of Rs. 1 lakh which will be distributed amongst the teachers in the school.
The state government also wants the involvement of the parents in the development of the students and will be facilitating the parents of the students who performed well as well. Naveen believes that the quality education is important for the development of the state as it is important for the students.
