On May 6, 2021 Madhya Pradesh government, launched a new scheme wherein free treatment will be provided to the covid-19 patients in the private hospitals in the state. This scheme announced by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. This scheme will be undertaken under Ayushman Bharat Yojana. All the Ayushman card holders and their families will be covered under this scheme. Under this scheme, private hospitals will be empanelled under Ayushman Bharat Yojana and free treatment including room rent, food, check-ups, consultation fees, paramedical fees will be provided to the patients. In the view of covid situations in the state, the state government has announced this scheme to provide free treatment in private hospitals thereby assisting the poor and middle-class people in the state.

- The main objective of the scheme is to help the poor and middle-class people through free treatment of covid-19
- This scheme will provide fee treatment to the patients in private hospitals across the state
- Ayushman card holders and their families will all be covered primarily under this scheme
- Free treatment will include tests like CT Scan, medicines, remdesivir injections, oxygen, etc free of cost
- Diagnostic advance of Rs. 5000 will also be given to each patient/ family as applicable under this scheme
- Rates of Ayushman Bharat package have been increased by 40% so that private hospitals can provide free treatment under this scheme
- This scheme will provide cashless treatment and proper life coverage to the beneficiaries
- This scheme will enable to maintain a balance of life and health of the poor and middle-class people across the state

- Under the scheme, free treatment will be provided to the covid patients in private hospital amidst the prevalent second wave of the covid-19 pandemic
- Free treatment will include tests like CT Scan, medicines, remdesivir injections, oxygen, consultation fees, room rent, check-ups, paramedical fees, etc free of cost

- Till date, 2.42 crore cards have been issued under Ayushman Bharat Yojana wherein 88% of the total population of the state is covered
- Free treatment is available in the government contract hospitals and with the launch of this scheme private hospitals will also be empanelled to provide free treatment
- Rates of Ayushman Bharat package have been increased by 40% so that private hospitals can provide free treatment under this scheme
- Currently 328 private hospitals are empanelled under this scheme and now 68 additional hospitals are included for next 3 months
- Collectors are empowered to keep a check on the private hospitals in their districts
- This scheme will cover the Ayushman card holders as well as their families
- It will help the families with free medical treatment and thereby provide a cover maintaining health and life balance
