Telangana state government is formulating a new scheme to promote Farm Mechanisation across the state. Agriculture Minister S. Niranjan Reddy, announced the scheme details during the Question hour in the assembly on March 24, 2021. Under this scheme, the state government will provide farm equipment like harvestors, threshers, winnowers and reapers to the farmers across the state at a subsidized price. This scheme is mainly being formulated to cope up with the shortage of farm labourers. Farm mechanisation will make the work easier for the farmers thereby making it quicker. It will also tend to open new employment opportunities for the rural youth.
