In India, ration cards are primarily used when purchasing subsidized foodstuffs (wheat and rice) and fuel (LPG and kerosene). Ration Card in all the states is used as a legal document. The Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has given the right to all citizens to apply for a ration card who permanently resides in the state. It assures the primary identity of a citizen’s name, age, and nationality. It is an important part of the Public Distribution System (PDS). Ration card can be used for availing benefits of government subsidy or schemes
Benefits of Ration card:
- Ration card can be used to purchase grains and fuel from different Public Distribution System (PDS) shops at lower costs
- It likewise used to get other authoritative records like driving permit, voter Id card, home endorsement, international ID and numerous different reports
- Ration card is used by the nationals to get grains and fuel at the season of shortage and war in the state
- It can be used to obtain death certificate and birth certificate from the government authorities
Required eligibility to obtain Ration card:
- The applicant and his or her family must be permanent residents of Goa
- The applicant and his or her family must belong to financial limit set by Goa government to get Ration card
- The applicant and his or her family must close relative
- Applicant should be above the age of 18 years
- Applicant should be the citizen of India
- Applicant should be the head of the family
- Applicant should not hold ration card in any other state
Document required for applying:
- Aadhar Card in PDF max size 40Kb
- Voter Id card PDF max size 40Kb
- Passport size photographs of the head of the family
- Applicants address proof (water bill/electricity bill/telephone bill/passport)
- Age certificate
- If an applicant holds old ration card and want to apply for a new one than surrender certificate or deletion certificate for the last one is needed
- Complete family information
- Proof of the income
- Application affixing non-judicial stamp of Rs.20/- on application from the head of the family on plain paper addressed to the Inspector of Civil Supplies.
- Bank details e.g. IFSC code, MICR code, Account number
- Note: Please mention House No. given by Panchayat/Municipality or name of the Building/Flat No, Mention correct name and ages as per Birth Certificate, The declaration should be signed by the Head of the Family only

- Post visiting this link a window will appear which will look like next image posted below
- Then fill required information and upload required documents
- Fill family member details
- Then click on Submit button
Fee for the New Ration Card:
- Application fee, not more than Rs.10
