The Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has given the right to all citizens to apply for a ration card who permanently resides in the state. It assures the primary identity of a citizen’s name, age, and nationality. It is an important part of the Public Distribution System (PDS). Ration card can be used for availing benefits of government subsidy or schemes

Why do we need to issue Duplicate Ration card?

When you lost or misplace ration card, you are required to issue duplicate ration card. Ration card can be used to buy different food grains and fuel from various rationing shops at lower prices. It also used to obtain other legal documents like driving license, voter ID card, domicile certificate, passport and many other documents

Benefits of Ration card:

  1. Ration card can be used to purchase grains and fuel from different Public Distribution System (PDS) shops at lower costs
  2. It likewise used to get other authoritative records like driving permit, voter Id card, home endorsement, international ID and numerous different reports
  3. Ration card is used by the nationals to get grains and fuel at the season of shortage and war in the state
  4. It can be used to obtain death certificate and birth certificate from the government authorities

Document required for applying:

  1. Application affixing non-judicial stamp of Rs. 20/- on application by the head of the family on plain paper addressed to the Inspector of Civil Supplies
  2. Self-declaration with a photograph of the applicant signed across stating that “if original ration card is found the same will be surrendered in Civil Supplies Wing, Office of the Taluka Mamlatdar.”
  3. Xerox copy of ration card
  4. Missing Article Report from concerned Police Station
  5. Report from fair price shop owner
  6. Affidavit giving details of family members, residential address and reasons for seeking a duplicate ration card
  7. Aadhar Card in PDF max size 40Kb
  8. Voter Id card PDF max size 40Kb
  9. Bank details e.g. IFSC code, MICR code, Account number
  10. Note: Please mention House No. given by Panchayat/Municipality or name of the Building/Flat No, Mention correct name and ages as per Birth Certificate, The declaration should be signed by the Head of the Family only
