The Pension Scheme for Disabled Persons is launched by Central Government and implemented by all states along with Chandigarh state, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Social Welfare. The scheme is specially launched for persons who are disabled means blind, deaf, orthopedically handicapped who suffer from 40% to 70% disability
The main aim behind introducing this scheme is to support and encourage disabled persons so that they should be able to live a common life. Under this scheme, disabled persons are awarded financial support up to Rs. 2000 per month. For getting benefits under this scheme applicant candidate need to qualify some eligibility norms which are mentioned below in articles like income limit or other things
Benefits of Pension Scheme for Disabled Persons:
- Pension Scheme for Disabled Persons provides benefits in the form of financial assistance to the persons who are blind, deaf, orthopedically handicapped who suffer from 40% to 70% disability. Rates of financial assistance mentioned below
- Persons who are disabled 40% and above will get Rs. 1,000 per month
- Persons who are disabled 70% and above will get Rs. 2,000 per month
Required eligibility and conditions for applying Pension Scheme for Disabled Persons:
- Disability should be 40% and above
- The income limit for getting Handicapped Pension is Rs. 12500 per month
- The applicant should be resident of Chandigarh for the last three years
Document required for applying Pension Scheme for Disabled Persons:
- Two passport size photographs
- Certificate of disability having percentage of disability 40% or above
- Aadhar card
- Residence proof of three years (Voter Card, Ration Card, Electricity Bill etc.)
- Bank details e.g. account holder name, branch name, account number, IFSC code, MICR code
- Identity proof
- Age proof
Application procedure:
- Applicant candidate can collect application form from nearer Social Welfare Office at Taluka level or District level and by filling that application candidate can submit along with required documents
