Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) Kerala

Kerala State Council for Science and Environment (KSCSTE), an autonomous body of Government of Kerala has been established Post-doctoral Fellowships in science and Engineering subjects for those who have acquired a Ph. D degree with high quality research publications in reputed journals. The aim of the fellowship is to motivate the PhD holders to pursue research and to develop career as scientists. The Fellowship can be availed for research in an institution under KSCSTE or any reputed R&D institution/University departments in India where research in frontier areas of science and engineering is going on and cannot be availed at the same institution where the candidates have earned their PhD degree.

Benefits of Post-Doctoral Fellowship Kerala:

1. Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) provides Scholarship in the form of financial assistance. Rates of scholarship are mentioned below
2. The selected candidates will get a monthly stipend of Rs. 32,000/- for two years
3. An annual contingent grant of Rs.50,000/- and 10% H.R.A p. m also will be granted to the PD Fellows
4. The Post-Doctoral fellowship can be availed for research in an institution other than the department or institute anywhere in India where the candidate has undergone Ph.D. work

Required Eligibility and Conditions for Applying Post-Doctoral Fellowship Kerala: 

1. Candidate should be a Keralite by birth / domicile
2. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. degree in Science or Engineering , at the time of application
3. Candidates should have published at least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed Journal (SCI- journal) or one national patent
4. Age should not be more than 40 years as on 1st January of the current year
5. The period of PDF shall normally be for a period of not exceeding 2 years

Document Required for Applying Post-Doctoral Fellowship Kerala: 

1. Detailed Resume
2. Age Proof
3. Attested copy of Master’s Degree
4. Attested copy of Doctoral Degree (if any)
5. List of publications
6. One page abstract of research work done during Ph. D programme
7. Detailed proposal of the proposed work
8. Copies of at least 3 most important publications
9. One page synopsis of proposed work
10. Consent letter from the Mentor
11. Consent letter from the head of the host institution. ( in the Application)
12. Declaration of the candidate ( in the Application)
