Pradhan Mantri Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana (PMASBY)

On October 25, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is about to launch Pradhan Mantri Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana (PMASBY) from Varanasi. This scheme was announced in the Union budget and it got the cabinet from central cabinet on September 21, 2021. Under this scheme efforts will be made for filling the gaps in the health infrastructure, surveillance and research. This scheme will cover all the rural and urban areas of the country. This scheme aims to strengthen the health infrastructure at state and central levels. Outlay of this scheme is Rs. 64,180 crores for a period of five years.

• This scheme will cover all the rural and urban areas all over the country.
• This initiative is mainly planned for strengthening the health care system thereby ensuring health and wellness of all the citizens.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi is about to launch Pradhan Mantri Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana (PMASBY) from Varanasi on October 25, 2021.
• Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Anandiben Patel, Other senior officials will be present at the occasion.
• Healthcare professionals and staff at panchayat level, block level, hospitals, etc., will join in virtually.
• This scheme was earlier announced in the Union budget and it got the cabinet approval on September 21, 2021.
• Under this scheme efforts will be made for filling the gaps in the health infrastructure, surveillance and research.
• This scheme will start institutions in view of the pandemic any future health crisis.
• This scheme will cover all the rural and urban areas of the country.
• It tends to introduce and implement reforms for long term public health infrastructure.

• On the day of scheme launch, PM will also unveil nine medical colleges from Siddharthnagar and thirty projects worth Rs. 5000 crores.
