On October 25, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is about to launch Pradhan Mantri Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana (PMASBY) from Varanasi. This scheme was announced in the Union budget and it got the cabinet from central cabinet on September 21, 2021. Under this scheme efforts will be made for filling the gaps in the health infrastructure, surveillance and research. This scheme will cover all the rural and urban areas of the country. This scheme aims to strengthen the health infrastructure at state and central levels. Outlay of this scheme is Rs. 64,180 crores for a period of five years.
