Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Yojana

This scheme is started by the central government to support and protect the health and well-being of woman and child in the country.

Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Yojana is launched by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India in the year 2016. This scheme is launched for poor pregnant women in the country. It is aimed at assured pregnancy care free of cost. Women will get diagnostic and counselling services along with screening for clinical conditions during their pregnancy. This scheme enables to diagnose risk factor in pregnancy if any and required care for the same. The aim of the scheme is to improve the health and well being of women and children in the country. It is a crucial step towards women care and empowerment.

Scheme Benefits:

  • This scheme is to promote proper well-being of maternal women and children.
  • It is aimed at assured pregnancy care free of cost up to Rs 5000 to every woman.
  • Women will get diagnostic and counselling services along with screening for clinical conditions during their pregnancy.
  • This scheme enables to diagnose risk factor in pregnancy if any and required care for the same.
  • Under this scheme the mother’s health are given priority for proper development of children.
  • It covers health and well-being of women and children in the country thereby ensuring lower maternity mortality rates.

Eligibility:

  • This scheme is applicable to women only.
  • The beneficiary woman must be pregnant.

Application Process:

  • The pregnant woman must visit any government hospital and register for the benefit under this scheme.
  • Fill in the provided form with required details and submit.
  • For volunteer doctors, the registration can be made online at the official portal @pmsma.nhp.gov.in

  • Accordingly fill in the required details and upload required documents in prescribed format.
  • Preview and submit.
