The Research Fellowship in Humanities & Social Sciences Students (RFH&SSS) Scheme of the UGC is open to candidates who have registered for Ph.D. in Humanities & Social Sciences in Department of Special Assistance identified by UGC. The objective of the Research Fellowship in Humanities & Social Sciences Students scheme is to provide opportunities to candidates to undertake advanced studies and research leading to Ph.D. degrees in Humanities & Social Sciences. The tenure of fellowship is initially for two years under the JRF scheme. Upon expiry of this period, the work of the Fellow will be evaluated by experts. If the research work is found satisfactory, his/her tenure will be extended for a further period of three years under the enhanced emoluments of the Senior Research Fellowship (SRF).

Benefits of Research Fellowship in Humanities & Social Sciences Students:
- The Research Fellowship in Humanities & Social Sciences Students provides benefits in terms of financial assistance to the students who wants to pursue research leading to a Ph.D. degree in engineering and technology
- Fellowship: Rs. 12000/- per month for initial two years and Rs. 14000/- per month for remaining tenure
- Contingency: Rs. 10000/- per annum for initial two years and Rs. 20500/- per annum for remaining tenure
- Departmental Assistance: Rs. 3000/- per annum per student to the host institution for providing infrastructure to the researcher
- Escorts/Reader assistance: Rs. 2000/- per month in cases of physically handicapped & blind candidates
- HRA: As per rules of the University/ Institutions will be given
Required eligibility and conditions for applying Research Fellowship in Humanities & Social Sciences Students:
- The candidates who have been registered for Ph.D. in Humanities and Social Sciences subjects in Department of Special Assistance identified by UGC
- All Minimum qualifications are a master’s degree in Humanities & Social Sciences Students
- The age limit is 40 years as on 1 July of the year of award, extendable by 5 years for women and SC/ST candidates
- A total of 5% of the fellowships are reserved for candidates belonging to SC/ST who fulfil the requisite qualifications laid down for the award
- In case of non-availability of SC/ST candidates, these slots will be made available to general candidates

- Passport size photos
- Graduate and post graduate degree certificates
- Caste certificate
- Cast validity if required
- Aadhar card
- Identity proof e.g. voter ID, Driving license
- Previous year Mark sheet
- Bank details, account holder name, account number , IFSC code, MICR code
- Research related proof if any available e.g. IEEE paper
- Details of research for which candidate is applying
- Disability certificate if candidate is

- Fill the application form properly and attached all required documents along with signature of respective authorities like Principle, Head of the department
- Send it to respective address mention into references below
- Candidates will be shortlist on the basis of merit
- Shortlist candidates will get call for interview
- And then candidate will be selected
