Government of Karnataka has launched Samruddhi Scheme for youth from SC/ST (Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes) categories to promote entrepreneurship amongst them. The objective of the scheme is to boost self-employment through small businesses. The scheme will provide employment opportunities and empower youth from the backward classes. Government will partner with private companies to train youth for entrepreneurship.

The Social Welfare Minister Shri Priyank Kharge announced the scheme. According to him the government is planning to create industry owned private enterprise to make SC/ST groups financially independent. The scheme will focus on the skills development to create alternate means of employment.

Samruddhi Scheme: A skills development / training scheme for the SC/ST youth in Karnataka to promote entrepreneurship.

Samruddhi Scheme Objectives:

  • To empower SC/ST youth
  • To create self-employment opportunities
  • To create jobs in the state
  • To boost state economy

Samruddhi Scheme Eligibility:

  • Scheme is applicable only in Karnataka
  • Youth from SC/ST categories only can apply for the scheme

Samruddhi Scheme Benefits:

  • Skills development trainings and certificates will be provided to aspiring SC/ST youth
  • Seed fund for the aspiring entrepreneurs
  • The trainings and funding will help entrepreneurs start their retail outlet or franchise

Samruddhi Scheme Highlights & Implementation:

  • A scheme by the Department of Social Welfare Government of Karnataka
  • Industry owned private enterprise will be created
  • Karnataka government has signed MOU with 30 retail companies
  • The scheme will benefit 25,000 youth from SC/ST categories in Karnataka
  • The government is planning to create 10,000 entrepreneurs annually for next three years
  • The scheme will benefit economically and socially marginalized societies in the state
  • The scheme will focus on the rural areas and tier-II cities in the Karnataka
  • Government will provide seed grant to the aspiring entrepreneurs also under the scheme
  • The financial assistance will help trained youth to start their franchises or retail outlets

Application for empanelment of franchisers for Samruddhi Scheme:

Established companies/firms can empanel themselves to be a franchise to accelerate entrepreneurship in the state. Interested companies can enroll themselves online at Samruddhi portal at samruddhiyojane.com
