Scheme to prevent Child Labour

To prevent child labour in the state thereby ensuring social security and welfare of the children in the state.

Kerala government has newly come up with a scheme to prevent child labour in the state. Kerala Women and Child Welfare department Minister, Veena George announced the scheme on December 14, 2021. This is a incentive scheme under which the state government will provide an incentive of Rs. 2500/- to those who provide information to the department on child labour. This scheme is planned by the government in the purview of child labour cases at many places after the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. Child labour is a criminal offence in the country and is banned since a very long time. To curb the increasing cases of child labour in the state the government has planned this scheme. This will tend to ensure welfare of all the children in the state.
