Scholarship for Female Sportspersons launched by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of Gujarat. The main objective behind introducing this scheme is to promote female sports and prepare excellent player. The scheme is started in the year 2000. As we know how sports is important in human life, then how come female deprive of sports. In fact, females who play sports have higher levels of confidence and self-esteem and lower levels of depression and have a more positive body image and experience higher states of psychological well-being than girls and women who do not play sports etc. To foster such needs of women empowerment Gujarat government started an initiative to promote female sports. Under this scheme the scholarship award is given to girls who ranked 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd in state competitions organized by youth welfare department and those who have participated in SEFI National tournament, National women championship, and all rural sports. All girl wishes to get benefits can contact to Nearest Youth welfare department

Benefits of Scholarship for Female Sportspersons in Gujarat:

• Scholarship for Female Sportspersons focuses to promote young and talented sportswomen and prepare excellent player
• Under this scheme girl who ranked 1^st will get Rs. 4800 per year
• Under this scheme girl who ranked 2^nd will get Rs. 3600 per year
• Under this scheme girl who ranked 3^rd will get Rs. 2400 per year
• Under this scheme girl who is national participants will get Rs. 4800 per year

Eligibility and conditions applying for Scholarship for Female Sportspersons:

1. Gujarat resident are eligible
2. Below Poverty Line, cardholder is also eligible
3. Female Sportspersons are eligible
4. Girls who ranked 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd in state competitions organized by youth welfare department and those who have participated in SEFI National tournament, National women championship and all rural sports are eligible

Documents applying for Scholarship for Female Sportspersons:

1. Residence proof: Domicile certificate, Electricity bill
2. Identity proof: Aadhar card, Voter ID
3. Passport size photograph
4. Bank passbook copy
5. Bank details e.g. IFSC code, MICR code, Account no

Application procedure:

1. Applicant women should visit Department of Women and Child Development to apply
2. Sports Academy may help to get scholarship award
