The Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme is introduced in 2007 by Maharashtra government the (Ministry of Human Resource Development) for providing highly subsidized technical education to economically backward students, women and physically challenged students. The scheme shall be applicable to all the sanctioned seats of the engineering and pharmacy courses in the Government colleges or institutions, grant-in-aided colleges or institutions and unaided colleges or institutions approved by AICTE, New Delhi
Benefits of Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme:
- The Tuition Fee Waiver scheme provides benefits in the form of providing highly subsidized technical education means no tuition fee need to pay except other fees taken by college
- Beneficiary students will get free technical education means no tuition required to pay
- The Tuition Fee Waiver scheme 5% of the total seats and made compulsory to all colleges recognized by the AICTE which will include private unaided institutes
Required eligibility and conditions for applying Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme:
- Only those candidates who have an annual family income lesser than Rs. 6 Lakh from all possible sources are eligible to apply through the TFWS scheme. The required income-related documents must be validated by the appropriate competent authority of the Maharashtra State in order for the students to take the seats which are secure through the CAP round
- The waiver is limited to the Tuition Fee only. All other Fee except Tuition Fee will have to be paid by the beneficiary student
- Candidates belongs to OBC/SC/ST/GENERAL category all are eligible for scheme
Application procedure and documents required for applying Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme:
- Income certificate up to Rs. 6 lakh be respective authority e.g. Provided by Tahasildar
- Caste certificate
- Non-creamy layer (only for those who belongs to)
- Caste validity
- Entrance exam score card
- HSC and SSC Marksheet
Application procedure:
- For applying The Tuition Fee Waiver scheme applicant has to check eligibility after entrance exam result or while applying for CAP round
- When candidate apply for admission procedure through ARC center he has to select TFWS scheme means while doing registration there is option comes like e.g. Do you want to apply for TFWS and candidate has to click yes button
- Then while filling option form candidate has put institution decided TFWS code of respective college
